Close-up of side canvas board

Complete Painting for Sale

Base
: Stretched Canvas
Made Using:
Acrylics
Size:
10"x12"
Topic: Gayatri Mata is typically portrayed as seated on a red lotus, signifying wealth. She appears in having five heads with the ten eyes looking in the eight directions plus the earth and sky, and ten arms holding all the weapons of Vishnu, symbolizing all her reincarnations.

I have written
gayatri mantra " भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं । भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि, धीयो यो न: प्रचोदयात् ।। " all over this painting.

The meaning of which is: Oh God, the Protector, the basis of all life, Who is self-existent, Who is free from all pains and Whose contact frees the soul from all troubles, Who pervades the Universe and sustains all, the Creator and Energizer of the whole Universe, the Giver of happiness, Who is worthy of acceptance, the most excellent, Who is Pure and the Purifier of all, let us embrace that very God, so that He may direct our mental faculties in the right direction.

NOTE: This painting is for SALE and you can contact me at mbcblogger@gmail.com.

Megha, I think this is one of my favorites of all your work. It is so well thought out, so complete in color and expression. I love the symbolism of the figure and the writing. The expression you've written is such a glorious prayer!

I did not know how Goddess Gayatri is represented and also did not know the meaning of Gayatri Mantra. Thanks for sharing this through your work and blog.

WOW, Megha...this is fantastic! Love the dynamic colors and the writing really pulls it all together. I like the way you've made some of the letters faint and others bold. Great touch putting it around the edges too.

I am just now seeing this painting, Megha, and I think it is exquisite. I still love the other one I liked before - I think it was a princess - but this one is so beautiful. I like the colors and the lotus and the goddess who seems so benevolent. Also, I like your prayer!!
